This two-day, one-night tour combines two of Sabah's most rewarding wildlife experiences: Sepilok's rehabilitation centres and a river cruise along the Kinabatangan. The journey begins with a visit to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where boardwalks lead through the rainforest to a viewing platform overlooking the daily feeding session, followed by the neighbouring Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, home to the world's smallest bear species. After lunch, the tour continues inland to the Kinabatangan River, one of Borneo's richest wildlife corridors, for an afternoon cruise in search of orangutans, macaques, pygmy elephants, and hornbills along the riverbanks. An overnight stay at Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort rounds out the day, set within the sights and sounds of the surrounding rainforest. Day 1: Orangutans, Sun Bears & River Wildlife

The adventure begins with a transfer from the Sandakan hotel or airport, heading to Sepilok. A leisurely walk along the boardwalks winds through the rainforest, leading to the feeding platform at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Next is the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, home to the world's smallest bear species. After lunch at Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort, the journey continues inland to the Kinabatangan River for a relaxing afternoon cruise, watching for orangutans, macaques, pygmy elephants, and hornbills along the riverbanks. The day ends back at the lodge with dinner and a cosy overnight stay, enveloped by the calming sounds of the rainforest.

Day 2: Farewell to the Rainforest

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before checking out, with the tour concluding in the Sepilok area for onward travel by approximately 12:00 PM.

What should I know before booking?

The start and end times of the tour may vary based on the weather, and cruise times may also adjust depending on the river, weather, and risks. if the weather doesn’t cooperate, there won’t be any refunds. Just like any wildlife tour, we can't promise you'll see specific animals. It's all part of the adventure!

Does the tour include pickup and drop-off?

Absolutely, we can pick you up from anywhere at Sandakan Airport or any spot in Sandakan or Sepilok. Our pick-up starts at 11 AM!

Can I get a refund if I missed some tour or only participated partial?

The tour isn't refundable, so we can't really do anything about getting a refund or making changes. Maybe it's a good idea to just jump in and have some fun. The itinerary might shift a bit if the weather gets rough or if we need to keep the animals safe.

What can I expect during the stay?

The stay will be in Sandakan instead of the Kinabatangan areas, which means no issues and generally better facilities than in the city either in a resort or a high-end hotel with private room, private bathroom and hot and cold shower with breakfast included and plenty of time to relax at your own pace.

Would you arrange for a vegan or vegetarian option?

Yep, it's totally free and there are no extra charges. Just give us quickly reminder up when you make your reservation or the day before you check in, so our staff can get everything ready for you.

Are all wildlife guaranteed to be seen?

In a wildlife area, animals can wander freely, so you can't always count on seeing them and hence it is not guaranteed but our guide will do their best to locate them. 

Can the tour schedule or timings change?

Yes. Please be aware that unexpected weather conditions, river water levels, and local government regulations may cause delays or adjustments to the tour's departure, activity, and end times.

Where does the tour conclude, and is drop-off provided beyond that point?

The tour concludes in the Sepilok area. If you need to travel to destinations outside of Sepilok (such as Sandakan city center or other attractions), you will need to arrange your own transportation.
